| Media: Watercolor and Pastel Vision: I paint for the sheer pleasure of it! In this busy, hectic world, the time we take to experience the way morning light washes over the landscape (or the myriad of colors in a single rose) is a gift to the soul. Art brings an essence of spiritual renewal. |

Biography:
I started drawing when I was quite young and was fortunate to have encouraging art teachers throughout the years. While a junior in high school, I received a scholarship to attend Saturday classes at the Columbus College of Art and Design where students received intensive instruction in drawing and painting. In college, after experimenting with several types of media, I focused on black and white photography because of its graphic quality and technical challenges. Lessons learned in the art of composition have endured. More recently, membership in the Desert Artists’ League has allowed me to gain firsthand experience from some of the most preeminent art instructors in the world! Today, I use my art education in every facet of my life. Like many art students, the training I received in analyzing each aspect of a painting, coupled with the experience of creating a project from start to finish, have given me the skills and confidence that are needed to be successful in many endeavors. I believe we should support the arts at every opportunity. | |
